Strong Girls provides a welcoming space for 8th grade girls to come together every other week, build community, and explore the big questions around what it means to be a Jewish girl in today’s world. This opportunity helps young people grapple with the obstacles they face and prepares them to be the leaders they can be today and in the future.

Rachel Alterman Wallack

Rachel Alterman Wallack, MSW, is the Founder and Mission Director of VOX Teen Communications. Her experience growing up in Atlanta and then writing for Junior Scholastic and Business Atlanta magazines while volunteering with teenagers inspired her to unite teens from different backgrounds and parts of the region to create an outlet for teens’ voices and leadership in 1993.

Dr. Brian J Dew

Dr. Brian J Dew

Dr. Dew currently serves as Chair of the Department of Counseling and Psychological Services at Georgia State University and has served as Atlanta’s primary representative to the National Institute on Drug Abuse’s (NIDA’s) Community Epidemiological Work Group for the last 12 years, where he is responsible for reporting Atlanta drug trends to federal officials.
