PAL Mentorship Program
Feb. 22, 2020
Hosted by Jewish Family & Career Services
Do you know a Jewish child in need of support? Have they lost a parent? Are their parents going through a divorce? Single mom by choice? Adopted? Do they have a sibling with special needs? The PAL Program of JFCS can help.
PAL matches children (ages 5 to 17) with Jewish adult mentors (ages 21+) to create meaningful, unconditional and fun friendships! We have a number of excellent volunteers waiting to be matched. Contact us by phone (770-677-9390) or email (firstname.lastname@example.org) today, or visit www.jfcsatl.org/pal for more info.
Each of us was influenced by someone – other than our parents – who introduced us to new worlds and brought a little magic into our lives. PAL is a program of the Child & Adolescent Services at Jewish Family & Career Services. It helps to support the family unit by offering one-on-one mentor relationships for children who could use some extra time with a trusted adult. PAL provides activities that are fun, diverse and low-cost or free, which allows an opportunity to try and learn new things. A PAL volunteer — a Big PAL — becomes a mentor for your child, an experience that will forever change each of you.
National studies have shown that mentoring programs can help enrich the lives of children and strengthen their families. These benefits include improving grades, feeling greater success and accomplishment, engaging in safer behavior and forming stronger relationships. Participation in PAL enhances the lives of children, families and volunteers.
